Mom Bloggers have a lot of things that they tend to multitask. If you’re a small blogger like me, you probably can’t afford a personal assistant yet to take care of all the millions of little things and effort you put into your blog every day. This makes it difficult because your phone needs to be constantly attached to you- snapping photos, jotting ideas, making contacts and connections, replying to social media, posting to social media, etc… But sometimes it’s important, (even as a bad-ass mommy blogger!) to give yourself some liberation from the constant tiny electronic buzzing that controls your life. Spending time for yourself and knowing when to give yourself a break from your business- and phone- can really save your sanity.
This week has been full of a ton of new changes and decisions for my family, some exciting and others not so much. If you’re wondering why I haven’t been popping around on social media as often as I usually do, it’s because I’ve been focusing on spending time with my family and working on the next steps in our future.
This week I actually put my phone down for most of the time. I know, surprising, right? Sometimes this can be hard, especially since everything I do for my business is on my phone. Giving myself a small break this week was extremely nice. My son’s 2nd birthday was a few days ago and we got to spend the day with family and go bowling. It’s been so long since I’ve been bowling, I was so sore the next day! It sure was fun though and I’m so proud and happy for my little guy who has grown up so much!
This week I’ve given myself the opportunity to relax and enjoy and to celebrate the small (but great!) victories that I have had for my blog in the past few weeks. Allowing yourself to have time to reflect on this can help you from feeling too overwhelmed with keeping up with the fast-paced lifestyle of a mommy- blogger. So if you’re starting to feel like you’re headed for the dingy-bin, maybe you should stop and take a moment. Even if you can’t take a full week off, at least give yourself a day or two. Between the kids, back to school, and the summer dwindling to an end… there is no better time to get some damn peace and quiet! If you need some suggestions of ways to relax, you can always check out my de-stress guide for the mommy in distress.
I want to hear from you other mommy bloggers, momtrepreneurs, and work from home mommies… how do you like to take a break from your businesses to save your sanity once in a while? Leave me a comment and let me know!
